Agnico Eagle To Acquire TMAC Resources For $2.20 Per Share

TMAC Resources is being acquired. This time however, it isn’t by a China-based firm. The company this morning announced that it will be acquired by that of Agnico Eagle, with the transaction being effected by way of assignment of the prior arrangement that was in place with Shandong Gold Mining.

Is there any chance of a competing, higher bid, or are the controlling shareholders locked into this deal? I skimmed the news release but didn't notice any mention of breakup fees. While I'm grateful for the $2.20 offer I still think $3 is realistic.
