Topaz Energy Corp T.TPZ

Started a position today

Good enough for me.  Nice yield (that they'll grow) and this is one of the select few names in the sector making deals every few months.

You can almost guarantee that in 5 years, this name will be one to look back on and say "I wish I bought some".  

Buy some, don't look at it every day and time will be your friend. 
 

Great mgmt & they don't sit on their hands.. their synergies with TOU are excellent.  TOU can acquire (as they will continue to do) and TPZ take on a royalty and provide some of the up front funding.    

Eventually a large % of the FCF will be paid out via dividends.. this is just the start.

I would be really reluctant to be a buyer of TPZ. It sure sounded like a great story when it listed...only to see the stock meander aimlessly since. Sure the divvy is nice but as far as growth it has been a cronic underperformer in the sector. Stick with TOU. Good luck.

TOU is excellent, but TPZ will be an outperformer (relative to other higher yield payers). Nice news today.. "growth".

cheadle12...I just dont see much capital appreciation in the stock. I was holder of TPZ from 12 to about 14 and then for whatever reason the stock just froze while the rest of the sector took off to new highs. Today..months later..the stock continues to languish at just barely above 14. Just saying there are better plays in the sector.
