Dividend Increase

Here's what Simply Wall Street had to say on the topic:

Tamarack Valley Energy
TVE
Share Price 7 Day   1 Year
3.16 1.0%   -23.9%

Dividend of CA$0.013 announced
Shareholders will receive a dividend of CA$0.013.
  • Ex-date: 28th February 2024
  • Payment date: 15th March 2024
  • Dividend yield will be 4.7%, which is lower than the industry average of 5.4%.

Sustainability & Growth

  • Dividend is not adequately covered by earnings (94% earnings payout ratio) and the company has no free cash flows available, indicating it may be using cash reserves or debt to pay the dividend.
  • The dividend has increased by an average of 23% per year over the past 2 years and payments have been stable during that time.
  • The company's earnings per share (EPS) would need to grow by 4.0% to bring the payout ratio under control. EPS is expected to grow by 38% over the next 2 years, which is sufficient to bring the dividend into a sustainable range.

They do not account for 400m debt paid down in 2023 and reserves that have been amassed plus lower costs per barrel now. NG is less than 4% of revenue BTW. WCS was not as good in Q4 2022 and in Q1 2023. I do not agree with Simply Wall Street.

Neither do I.  I SIMPLY do not know what they are smoking over there.  I do not recall any announcements of a Div Inc around Jan 22.  In fact the last official release from TVE is dated Feb 15 and the div remains at $0.125. Go figure. https://www.tamarackvalley.ca/news-media

Rounding up 0.125 to 0.13 Their fair value is 11 bucks plus

That sounds great but unfortunately the dividend is .0125 and not .125.
