No response they are saying so oil falls.

Not sure how the entire industry can accept being dictated too by algorithmic trading.

It really is a day to day ride.

I'm thinking it's more than the algorithmic trading because as Nuttall said they are not good at pricing in geo-political risk. In fact the market, remarkably, doesn't have much of a risk premium despite the middle east situation being the most dangerous it ever has.  And when there are middle east fireworks the rise in oil is modest and isn't held for long but conversely in ...more

Your theory will be put to the test in a couple of weeks. Let's hope political appetite to manipulate oil prices wanes after the election.

If my observations are correct, to me its a new level of intervention where the public good overrides market forces. Therefore it may be the new norm going forward. But the million dollar question is who/what is responsible and does that continue post election with or without a change in parties?
