But diesel is not going away in my lifetime.
U.S. DISTILLATE stocks depleted by -4 million barrels over the seven days ending on March 1. Inventories were at the lowest seasonal level since 2022 and before that 2014. Stocks were -18 million barrels (-13% or -1.09 standard deviations) below the prior ten-year average. Diesel supplies remain tight despite the lacklustre state of manufacturing and freight activity:
