A question to the wise re: accident.
"the exposure was an isolated incident in an area of the mine that was being prepared for ventilation following a stope blast."
This was a quote from press realese. My DD tells me carbon dioxide is created by explosions. An explosion/blast had taken place. Fine, we have the source. Now it says the area was being preparted for ventilation. What does this mean? The do something to clear out carbon dioxide from an area after a blast? A specic action for the blast. Verses building out long term ventalation as part of the infrustructure of the overall mine. I don't know? Is it proceedure for some kind of vacumming up of the gas after an blast. Not sure.
Any intelligent input appreciated.
