risk now comes from testing results of chinook and the deep.

apart from that, the only risk is lng price, which had a nice rebound from the lows of a few months ago.

I am kind of confident of the casca deep since the upper zone is 900 feet from same zone at Casca that was already tested and was  limited by size of the pipe. (hope they have a bigger pipe of casca deep). And the lower zone in casca deep  had such high pressure it was blowing natural gas to surface despite attempts to control it.

I must admit I don't understand the mechanics of high pressure gas. We hit gas under high pressure in various sections all the way down, so what's the differance of high pressure gas at 8400 ' vs 8600 ' ? Does the pressure increase so much between sections that it suddenly becomes uncontrollable or is it a cumulative effect. Anyone know ?

If the rig can't handle the pressure yes it can be very dangerous. Have a look. https://youtu.be/iMHlx_s3nlM

They are done with the drilling FYI ! LOL

A simiplistic approach explanation.  Typically all formation pressure scales are related to the water gradient...so ~10 kPa/m or 10 kg/m3 density.  If encounter a zone at 1000m one would expect ~10,000 kPa formation pressure (slightly higher depending on brine salinity maybe 10.5MPa).  If pressure encountered higher than this gradient it's classed as over pressured and if less ...more

I would love to hear more of that mud filtercake !

I appreciate that. I guess it comes down to the fact that we already found a monster down to a certain depth and although we may have had much more pay to find the risk rerward just doesn't makes sence. Still like to know, could there be another 2000' of pay and are they connected ? Next year, after Royston maybe. Thanks a lot.

Could there be pay, yes they're targeting what they're interpreting to be repeating thrusted sheets of this turbidite section. 2000'  more (all pay)  not likely.  One would expect a similar net to gross ratio that we've seen thus far for each penetration of the section.  Connection, likely need to wait until production and then future penetrations. These units ...more
