Perplexed

I used to time my buy backs to when Wildcatter got really bearish here.  That was usually good for a definite 25%+.  Too bad he's not here anymore and I have to slowly rebuild my position on dips knowing this is going to have more catalysts in 2021 along with a revenue generating pipeline paid for.  All investments carry risks, but TXP is becoming more and more de-risked imo with further upside potential vs. downside.  You never know, but I've been adding on red days under $2

All the tax sellers would be January buyers so you have a few days left for that. My dream would be if they released some stellar chinook test results on the 3 rd of January...

It's simple, just follow him around and short everything he's buying. It's working for me.

I think today is a good day to bring forward some complaints regarding insider skin in the game...or the lack there of, it's been my main beef since I started following this stock 2 years ago. It's despicable, uninspiring and disappointing and today is just another confirmation of this. And when it comes to the directors I say one in one out, or else please enlighten me on whatever ...more

You can't blame them, this thing was a complete dog before they hit at Coho, I wouldn't have bought it either....and I didn't.  What matters is what guys bring to the table when a deal is complete shite, on it's knees and no one else will help. They may have done a lot more than you realize. Had TXP drilled a dry hole these guys would be still directors of just another dog on ...more

No Goa, they did not get lucky here. And I believe most bought here in anticipation of the Ortoire block and not because of the tiny western pools, that I couldn't care less about. The TXP team been working for years on the Ortoire project FFS ! Sure maybe they've been invaluable for TXP and I'm not aware of it, but I truly doubt it, but what really matters is what do they bring to the ...more

Don't underestimate that western ground. Just what lies beneath the existing production? That's been the question on the new discoveries but the only difference is lack of infrastructure there. So is there gas or oil to depth on the western side?  Something to spend some of that wall of money on?

I'm aware of that DB, but wasn't my point as I'm sure you know.

Think this Co. has a long history and many shareholders are from deals that were supposed to be great but failed, Directors too probably. The Ortoire block was just dirt , an unproven concept and the stock was a dog, it's was hardly a household name. I don't think many bought in because they were facsinated by the huge upside at Ortoire but I might be wrong.  I'm certain if ...more

Goa, maybe we bought this stock for completely different reasons and just by coincidence ended up being "lucky" ...for completely different reasons ?  LOL But who cares as long as the ending is a happy one !

No, I think you may have been one of the early ones who thought Oritoire was an interesting play and you got in much earlier than most....on the strength of it alone. Good sluething ! I was oblivious to it and only became aware of it when I caught some news last December that I thought was significant, did some very quick DD, bought some stock because I thought it looked very interesting, did ...more

Fun story - about 10 or 15 years ago I was working in the oil patch in downtown Calgary when a friend of mine who was a director back then at Primera (now Touchstone) took me for lunch with one of the geologists at Primera and after a few drinks he started extolling the future upside of the deep zones under Trinidad. I'm not sure if he was talking about the Herrera or not but I rushed back to ...more

That is a good story and congrats after all this Time!   I have to chuckle at having heard early-on one-time promoter Larry Ryckman on the Calgary CBC  talking about extracting Gas & Oil from rocks. I was driving on Memorial Dr., and scoffed at the hucksterism of the fella!  Shoulda, Woulda, but seemed to be far-fetched at the time!  Larry now lives the good-life in ...more

Increasingly coming to the conclusion that stocks need "To be ripe" or if you like "In the moment" to make money on them. Have held some great stocks that had 90% of the ingredients to work, but that missing last 10% just meant it didn't happen. A friend called it "Sailing with the wind, not against" a while back and I think that's right. It feels like ...more

The 90 % is usually the theory, the 10 % the proof. I've bought plenty of stocks over the years based on great theories but that last 10% can be illusive. So I've found that if I buy after the proof is in I'll usually do much better. I realized that I don't need to be the first into a deal to make huge returns, I just have to be paying attention to the market and be able to ...more

A few commnents here. In my previous post I meant Stanley Smith not Beverly I forgot there are now two Smiths in the board room. And speaking of non-execs/directors I believe there are usually too many of them generally speaking in public corps. and that seems most likely here also so I will stick with that slogan of mine - One in One out ! LOL As for my reason to invest in TXP it was based on ...more

Absolutely this ground is brownfield exploration where hydrocarbons were confirmed in the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and 2000s but each time they were deemed as not commercial because the infrastructure was not in place to support commercialisation and therefore the drilling was more stratigraphic than production orientated. The hydrocarbon price crash following 2008 wiped that history ...more
