Does anyone remember Raging Bull

First really engaged stock message boards. They were really awesome for first year. There were about 10-20 people on each board who really contributed a variety of information and also viewpoints.  Then every board I followed got two wildcatters - and the whole thing became useless and frustrating.

That has happened to a lot of these forums.  Stockhouse has really been quite good and has avoided the worst of it.

I wish wildcatter could just stop it and be a good citizen.  In his present incarnation he is the poison that kills message boards. Not offering different opinions but just out and out lies. Seems unlikely he will just realize that and stop what he is doing, but I am always an optimist. But otherwise I will stop checking this board. And there has been very good input here. It is a little easier but we do have the London board and that is monitored and he would be kicked off very quickly if he posted any of his worst posts. And there are knowledgeable posters there who are very engaged with the TXP story. . That's where I got ahold of the Xavier Moonan connection for one thing. And a lot of the followers there have been on Paul's video presentations.

People were cutting their teeth on RB... joined in 98 out in 2002. How else could you learn about a dot.com story worth 1.5 billion with no sales, a P.O. Box and an ad Chiron on the Altavista web browser. Geez getting old is fun Lev

Hope you had the U.S. Robotics 56k external modem to help with that. I know i thought I needed that to keep up the pace.

I was a member at the beginning of RB but left after it got too big. At the beginning there was a ready access to information that was impossible to get otherwise (because very primitive internet and no company web-sites). A lot of knowledgeable people shares thoughts, ideas, and information. Much better than getting a three month old analysis from a brokerage firm. But the boards (especially ...more

Fair enough Margin but 3 months in that era made Mark Cuban a billionaire. You could miss  buying a stock on Monday and your neighbour retired on  Thursday selling that stock. The most recent weed bubble was a ripple compared to that tsunami... won't complain  as both made us and lost us $$

Good luck everyone with coming test results and the update by Paul on Thursday (with maybe a press release and an updated corporate presentation before that. Would love to see a new slide with details of the steelhead prospect. I have signed up for the presentation so I can watch it real time. I enjoy that. Like a live sporting event rather than a replay. Sorry that  I introduced an off ...more

No problem by me with the off topic introduction. As far as I am concerned it is much more enjoyable reading about the dot.com era of trading than listening to Wildcattter hack up a hairball sort of post!

Off topic, not so much. A useful reminder there are stocks that trade on noise and some that trade on substance. Like everyone else here I have taken the TXP is sunstance line. Fingers crossed that we are right but just not yet aware of the size of the prize. Anyway it better be, I bought another 8,000 for my wife and she has plenty already. Nicely tucked away in a tax free account should ...more
