Why do they jump from one drill site to the other awhile testing instead of finishing one and then move to the other

They do not necessarily do that. But the testing has several parts: 1. After isolating the zone and hooking up the equipment they do a n extended flow test of 24 hours or sometimes a little less. Typical process that I've done in the past. Perforate the zone, Install bottomhole pressure guages, do a short clean up flow for about an hour or so to see cleaning up stable flow. Typically can then move off the service rig Shutin for ~10x the flow period. Then conduct the actual flow test. If you flow for 3 days then the ideal case would be to then shutin for ...more
