most O&G charts all look the same its not the debt it's the entire sector

While I love VET and plan on more buying and holding for a long time ( providing it doesn't get taken out) , I WOULD NOT say " its not the debt ". The debt VET holds is something that you should NOT ignore.  As long as WTI and Brent stay at high prices for the long term and continue to climb, then yes, VET has a fantastic chance on surviving and a much much higher share price ...more

Right, with WTI staying north of 60$ and gas 2.40 I'm hoping we see some dividend reinstated in 6-9 months and a significant move of the sp towards 15$. I've been holding for 8 or 9 yrs and had great dividends but bought in very high, fortunately I'v been able to average down quite a bit buying as low as 3.60.I've added at 8.60$ this week so remain quite positive mis-term.

I have a similar story but don't hold out hope for the dividend anytime soon (still dowon 50%).  VET has a habit of overselling and not delivering. The FFO numbers are using lofty expectations that were not achieved in the first quarter. If you look at the April presentation, none of the numbers they are counting on are quite up to expectations. WTI averaged $58 for the first 3 months ...more

They already stated outright there will not be a dividend for a few years.

My predicted timeline for a divy reinstatement is late fall in 2022. That's provided that Brent and WTI stay well above $60. AND.... If a divy is reintroduced by late fall in 2022, it would be a very small dividend. That's my call.
Comment by Overertune on Apr 24, 2021 2:33am
By fall 2022 they would have paid 800m debt and have only 1.2B left.  If they don't need to pay down more debt, just use all FCF for dividend, that is 2-3$ / share.

Being conservative is fine by me and a $2-3 a share payout would be more than welcomed.

Being Earth Day who wouldn't have believed "Greta's Back". Being another year older and wiser she is sounding off again based on her 19 - 20 years of life experience. I did not bother to listen to what she has to say this time around but one commentator/physician said that as with many Gen Z's she is suffering from "Eco-Anxiety" which is not unlike PTSD. Alberta, BC and Canada sequester more CO2 than they produce with Forest growth. And again with the crops.  The lumber industry builds houses & stuff with sequestered CO2. You cannot be "Greener" than that ! So I agree, let Florida, Boston, London all go under the sea. Just as long as they don't try to come here. kc
