Observations
As a long term holder of VET with respectable accumulation since March of 2020 I will just make a few key observations and its a take it or leave it sorta thing based on my 30 years of investing.
First, if you make all your investment choices based on recommendations from an Analyst from BNN or even here...you are already at least 6 months behind the curve. The Analyst were saying sell in March 2020 (All the time Buying) and now that everything is recovering, they are going into buy recommendation mode as per the text book manual on how to manipulate the market.
Next is doing your Due Diligence. Has anyone even picked up a phone and called the company and asked if the Dividend will be reinstated and how much debt do they plan on paying down? I always say I am calling on behalf of a hedge fund and I get alot of answers. Its a publicaly traded company, they do answer a straight forward question put to them.
Lastly, everyone is entitled to their opinion. You show me the genuis who has made 100% the right calls 100% of the time and Ill show you how to grow Gold in your backyard. Sometimes pure luck is involved cause you just got in the day before a HUGE announcement is a classic example. Sure its not an investment strategy but sometimes it does happen but that also applies to lottery tickets. The difference here being is that at least you have information available to you within the public domain to make the best educated guess as to what will happen next. Unitl Amazon sells me crystal balls that actually works, everything is just an educated guess and even multi billion dollar investment companies guess and thats a fact.
Botton Line...VET will do just fine and this is a long term hold that will eventually pay dividends not just figuratively. Good luck out there!

You make a very valid point. Middlemen, including bank analysts, brokers , fund managers, don't necessarily work for others. They mostly work for themselves. They are generally constrained by their need for credibility but when the stakes get high , the credibility is often thrown out the door. As always Caveat Emptor !!
