Ahh, yes indeed.  Patience is paying off again.   Still lots of room left for more gains. If Nuttal's outlook is correct,  these oil names will morph into good dividend paying companies for years into the future. The confounding policy mistakes by gov'ts have almost guaranteed it but at the same time have beggared a lot of the population with their dogmatic adherence to ESG ...more

Love the uptick we had today but, anyone know what might have been behind it? Or, was it just a delayed buy in that hsould have happened quite awhile ago.

I have a little bit of VET and drive an old Toyota Camry, win, win :-)) Do the people that push total conversion to renewable and elimination of use of fossil fuels in the near term actually believe anything they are preaching or have they been smoking so much of that other stuff that their brains have gone to mush! Do they actually think we are that stupid as opposed to them being that stupid. I ...more

Psst... It takes 8 yeras of driving an EV before it reaches the same CO2 level that an ice vehicule would emit in that 8 year span.  And this with a 200km battery. The bigger the battery, the more CO2 is required to produce that EV vehicule.  Shhh...Don't tell anybody about this or you will make all the virtue signalling drivers very upset.

EV's should be a matter of personal choice. Message to all the Tin Pot dictators. Give us the facts , charge us a reasonable Carbon Tax if tou will. Then get lost , you are commiting acts of calumny against the people you were elected to represent. Enough is enough you @@!@#s

You can slice it any way you want, but an EV emits far less GHG then an ICE powered vehicle over its lifetime. No one is stupid enough to think manufacturing a 2 ton machine can be done without GHG emissions.

Oh I don't know - I think Biden and Buttigieg might fit in that category. It seems they figure EV's are magic and like money they just grow on the trees in the backyard, thus everybody can have one.

Would you have any data that compares apples to apples? Manufacturing the batteries is a carbon emitting process and then there is the matter of generating the electricity. I'm asking about data from the start of the manufacturing process through to end of life. Here's what is clear: the ice vehicle is less carbon intensive to manufacture because it doesn't have the giant battery and ...more

There is plenty of data out there. Even if the car is charged with power from coal, the fact is a crappy coal plant is about 35 % efficient, take another 5% for transmission and charging losses, and you are at 30% efficent. Gas cars on daily use are about 12% efficient, then consider all the losses of the gasoline supply chain along the way. Batteries take a bit more energy to produce then the ...more
