EV charging time

It takes about 5 mintes to gas up a car, but 30 minutes to recharge an EV. The cars that will be waiting to charge up will form lines that will be miles  long. Thus don't expect to find a site in town; the cost of real estate is prohibitive. In the UK it is anticipated that you will only be able to charge up during off peak hours and, get this, the national grid will be allowed to actually use the electricity in your car! So, you could plug in at night wth half a battery full and in the morning it could be nil!  Hang on to your gas powered cars folks!

What about the fact that our electrical grids IF ONLY USED TO CHARGE VEHICULES, can only sustain 25% of the American vehicular fleet at any given time.  Do you see any nuclear power plants or electric dams being built in your area?  I think this transition will take take decades. OR rather "should" take decades in order to build the infra required.  Knowing our politicians ...more

People are not going to be charging all at the same time. That is nonsense:  https://www.forbes.com/sites/jamesmorris/2021/11/13/electricity-grids-can-handle-electric-vehicles-easily--they-just-need-proper-management/?sh=298e09037862
