Does VG Eagle need a public enquiry? Probably.

If it's anything like Mt Polley, sad to say, it'll be blamed on P.Eng's  some of which were not on site.  It appears the employer did not clearly state what was required and in fact EIT's where involved, similar in appearance to some of the reports that were produced for VG Eagle.

Is government feeling the heat, of course, perhaps they should also probe the engineers and consultants who initially designed this thing.  So far those folks have been as silent as the tomb.

"First Nation of Na-Cho Nyk Dun says review board investigation 'insufficient,' and public inquiry is needed"

"The Eagle gold mine disaster did not occur in a vacuum. It was preceded by years of warning signs, including a landslide in January and chronic water storage and management issues. It is unclear what, if any, steps Yukon government ("YG") took in response to these red flags," the letter reads.

"FNNND again urges YG [the Yukon government] to initiate a public inquiry into the Eagle gold mine disaster that includes an investigation of how YG's oversight — or lack thereof — may have contributed to the incident."
