I wouldn't be surprised to see this go past $2 today. The buying has been strong lately.

They wanted to drill 21 wells and already drilled 15-16 in the first half....

There we go...$2.02

Too much liability, too much taxes, too much capex. Not too much left after all of these.  Hopefully the company use the cash to make a better acquisition then we will see much better cash flow.
Comment by AucontraireII on Jul 12, 2023 9:01am
Too much cash, too much income, too many future opportunities, oil price rising too much....
Comment by Oilandgas2023 on Jul 12, 2023 12:29pm
Never seen compagnie pay taxes and not make money. You can't have one without the other. It's simple math.
Comment by Suppe11 on Jul 12, 2023 1:37pm
Did you already know the Q2 ? How do you know, they're not making money. Ever compared the shareholders equity of 2022 vs. 2023 ? Taxrate is 50% in Thailand, coperate tax in Canada is combined around 30%. The reason, why you didn't see big tax hits in canadian oilers, are their (better: many of them) taxpools (=never made money in the past) and/or their big capex bills. But...nothing in ...more

Someone likes it because it is up some .50  since it's recent drop to 1.66 level. Nice to see.

With Turkey swinging to global minority unfiendly status with is maon gas supploer who could terminate supplies at amy tome VLE should at least do production completions on the exploratory deeps they drilled on the peripjial of the basin and drill coue more in the prome zone They are close to pipeline to EU who will likely never get RU gas now that iys all being sold to global majority.  ...more
Comment by Kadiddelhopper on Jul 12, 2023 3:10pm
Don't really care how Turkey swings...if ERdogen wants to buy VLE's interest , sell it to them like yesterday. Its old new3s, old hat, and some may have put Turkey assets in the rearb view mirror as we drive forward in the Gulf of Taiwan.. Don't spend another dollar on Turkey.!
Comment by Suppe11 on Jul 12, 2023 4:14pm
IF Erdogan wants to have the NG asset, he will take it from you and put you in jail. But even Erdogan has no interest in the Asset, because a NG bullmarket is long gone and the next one will probably in 10 years, if that's the cycle shown in the past. Luckily the Valeura asset is in the gulf of Thailand...Taiwan is the future military playground.
Comment by firstworld on Jul 12, 2023 8:13pm
There is no Turkey Asset yet.  Its worthless at the moment. They need to write it off.
Comment by AucontraireII on Jul 13, 2023 1:24pm
Suppe.... I am genuinely curious about your comment. Are you saying that natural gas prices in Turkey have collapsed? Can you provide a link to prove it?  Having my doubts... Also.... of course any dictator can take whatever they want.  But good luck with that strategy.  Maybe he can dig through 4,000 m of ground to get to the gas himself using a shovel.  Failing that, he will ...more
Comment by Suppe11 on Jul 13, 2023 4:21pm
@Aucontrairell I guess you're not curious, but just want to expose me. Anyway, high Ng price in Turkey was $30/mcf last year, now it's around $14/mcf, normalized prices should be around $5-6. No infrastructure, pipelines 50km away...and pure NG is low margin play (compared to oil). IF you do Ng...you have to go big, Imho.  The future there: Big Ng finds in the Black Sea + still ...more
Comment by AucontraireII on Jul 13, 2023 5:09pm
Suppe... Not to worry, maybe I just wanted to showcase you might be a better way to look at it.   But still skeptical about the natural gas price in turkey. You overlooked sending the link which I'm sure is easy for you to find since you already checked it and you're on to such things and I'm not.  Thanks in advance!
Comment by Suppe11 on Jul 13, 2023 6:18pm
Aucontrairell  You meant a turkish Ng price link ? Imho there's no (easy) solution to that. The people over there at the Trillion Energy board would proclaim me to be king...if I could to that. So it's a bit of research and some comparisons/calculations with the TTf Ng and the turkish Botas price. It's not "real time" and not 100%, but around the given numbers. Btw ...more
Comment by AucontraireII on Jul 13, 2023 6:42pm
Suppe, My end of it wasn't rocket science, I'm simply looking for some evidence in support of your claim about Turkish Ng pricing.   Hoping you could provide it. If you can't, you can't and that's fine.  Personally I always go by Hitchens' razor which says "that which is asserted without evidence may be dismissed without consideration." But that ...more
Comment by Suppe11 on Jul 13, 2023 9:13pm
My conclusion about this theme: I followed a lot of discussions about the pricing there...a lot of people asking for links on turkish spot prices etc...noone ever provided one...so I guess...there exists no link.  There's a turkish pipeline corperation (Botas), who sets a price once a month for the end users and for the producers, but there is a spot market too. Of course the pricing has ...more

Ok then suppe, since you can't find the proof, we'll just all assume you are right....I crack myself up
Comment by Suppe11 on Jul 14, 2023 5:18pm
As I said, you're not curious, but wanted to expose me. You confuse my kindness (to tell you the rough numbers) with some kind burden of proof, which I don't have. Instead you're not able to do your own 5 minute dd...the lazy holy inquisition, eh ?  Let's just all assume, that (at least) you got no clue.
Comment by AucontraireII on Jul 14, 2023 7:23pm
Wow, we get awful sensitive when we make an assertion that we can't support, don't we now?!   And speaking of due diligence, what does that say about yours done without evidence?   Other than that nice textbook ad hominem attack. When you get a chance, try to be a little bit substantive... You know, when you're busy schedule permits. And remember, you started it ...more
Comment by Suppe11 on Jul 16, 2023 5:20am
You're lazy and/or got no clue, YOU ask ME for turkish ng prices. I told you the prices and where to search for (trigger words Botas and Trillion) and you finished the conversation, that noone should trust me and that I got no clue. That's it from me. If Valeura can't attract a farm in in the last year hype...then you can imagine, what they can do now.

So simple call Trafigura , Vitol or Glencore and get transactional level pricing.  oh no relationship with those trading homes .....find someone that has and ask a favor....just saying

You are crazy for saying that !! I wouldn't mind spending partners money tho!! Why not ?
Comment by Kadiddelhopper on Jul 12, 2023 4:50pm
Valeura is spending Equinor's money in the Gulf of Thailand 3 years after their split away...not likely another Partner willm step-in for a 2nd fleecing.
Comment by firstworld on Jul 12, 2023 8:08pm
LOL.  Equinot bkew their $100M already.  The $50M left was a raise to prove the deeps with productio  fracs and a couple more holes- which they never did.  Good thing they are TSX listed because they would be in prison anywhere else for fraud. Theyve been tryi g to sell it for 5 years no takers and SG is an OPM guy so if cant prove the deeps time to divest and write off ...more
Comment by Kadiddelhopper on Jul 12, 2023 8:48pm
SG and Valeura are probably just waiting it out until they require more Tax Write-off caopacity, as they did already inhereit quite a lot ( 5 years worth, I believe ) when they took on their Gulf of Taiwan enterprise.  No real hurry to crystallize, and who knows? circumstances change, and maybe the Turkey Properties could draw some interest again, but seems unlikely at this point anyway.
