Despite Wassana challenge, Valeura stockpiles cash for growth


Valeura is stacking up the cash for now, he said. In the next few months, the company will “have paid off all of our debt. We believe we’ll have pretty well our whole capex program for 2024 in the bank by the end of [the fourth quarter].”

My understanding: 1) VLE wants to save cash to make more acquisitions.  They want to avoid loan or dilution. 2) There are many other similar opportunities around the area.

It's clear from the (interview) article that Sean does not want to issue shares and does not want to borrow money. What is crystal clear is he wants to pay off debt and accumulate cash to cover all Capex. As I have been saying, it's about FCF right now. FCF is priority one and by year end, net cash should be between US$150 million to US$200 million as long as Brent holds up. Stock ...more
