Have you heard the term "energy cannibalism"

Energy canabalism is the amount of energy required to produce energy.........it is estimated that by 2024 energy cannabalism will be 25%........by 2050 energy cannabalism will be 50%........this means that 50% of the energy produced will be used to produce the entire supply of oil and gas production .......without exceptionally high energy prices the production of oil and gas is not sustainable due to energy cannabalism......imo

I read this article this morning.  If this is true, people will have much more to worry about than the price of oil.  Personally I give it less credence as nuclear could drastically help with this.  I recall 20 or so years ago the idea of building nuclear reactors in Alberta was being floated to supply cheap energy to the oil sands.  Unfortunately the idea was shelved.  ...more

Average time in Canada... 30 to 50 years to get through the regulatory red tape, diversity/gender analysis, payouts to first nations and foreign funded protests.
