It's more than that. Total of 2,817,000 shares were cancelled. They have been buying them from December 8 to December 31st. There be must some strategy as they buy 1.25 million worth of shares each day they do it, varying amount of shares based on the current price.  Totals to just under half a percent of outstanding shares. Hey it's a start. Let's keep it going!!

Yeah and where are all the posters that were constantly chanting about no share buy backs for years.. pretty quiet eh..! "Crescent Point has repurchased a total of approximately 26.2 million common shares under prior NCIBs first initiated on January 25, 2019. The Company did not repurchase any shares under its existing NCIB, which expires March 8, 2021, due to weak market

I'm seeing two entries where they cancelled shares on SEDI

According to their filing today (Jan 4, 2022) they have retired 2,817,000 shares through multiple repurchases between Dec 20 - Dec 31 at prices ranging from $5.57 - $6.72.

They were inconsistent before but now the buyback program is in full swing.  I hope it runs quarter after quarter.

Don't get too excited. In CPG fashion, all those shares will be gifted back to Management as year-end bonuses. Check their track record. jmo
