Simple Question

How many top tier drilling locations do you need?  Hammerhead deal may turn out great as time passes,  but as an investor, the goalposts seem to be continuously moved further away with these multiple acquisitions. Yes...CPG now has fantastic prospects, at the cost of 100M new shares in dilution, and another 1.5 $billion of debt ( if I have my numbers right) .  On the bright side, At least investors are getting paid a decent dividend while we wait for these new prospects to bear fruit.

4% dividend is hardly decent in this environment.  Not only are shareholders incurring significant risk, 4% is not even keeping up with inflation.

I don't own CPG shares but I get why CPG did this in alot of ways after thinking about it more. Don't think it takes a genuis to figure out both ARC and Paramount were interested in Hammerhead hence the price it went for.   The big thing stopping ARC is likely the massive infrastructure investment In BC they are already doing but the diverfisifcation factor of Hammer having ...more

Agreed Kavern, I'm sure there were more than one set of eyes looking at Hammerhead's assets.. the fact that they have a lot of infrastucture in place for expansion is going to allow CPG to hit the ground running once the transaction is complete IMO.. ;-)
