They probably pay dividends first since wti low and whats left went to buybacks , they may also wait that the hammer heads numbers get inside the metrics as the free cash flow will be different , I guess once the q4 reports come we will have better understanding .

- you are reading it ALL WRONG - THAT was NOT a BUYBACK of NCIB shares - that was SIMPLY a CANCELLATION of PREVIOUSLY BOUGHT SHARES in the MONTH of DECEMBER 2023 - IN FACT, they STILL HAVE YET TO CANCELL ANOTHER 543,600 shares z173

Looks like you are picking up on a new tactic. Perhaps buying back to sell back into the market when share price is higher or in the event they need cash.
