can we get back on topic

Harper did a decent job as leader, wasn't perfect but got the job done. As for being an economist he has a masters in economics which does not make him nor grant him the title of "Economist"

In the world of economics and be concidered an economist you need to meet three criterea:

1--By far the most common litmus test is a PhD in economics. The PM does not have one.

2--The second is having, over a career, written and published economic work that has been accepted in peer-reviewed publications and conferences in the professional world of economics..

3--Finally, you don't get to call yourself an economist unless sometime during your working life, you have held down a job that by any reasonably accepted standards of that profession, clearly requires training in advanced economics as a precondition for doing the work in question.

(This means the work demands the skills of an economist, not necessarily the academic credentials)

I'm sure in his tenure he probably had a better grasp on the subject and by far blows away the current PM's grasp on the subject.

Can we please get back on the topic discussing VRN and the turmoil in the global oil demand especially oil being below the 70$ and its impact on VRN
