What's  it going to take to get this moving.

Lost cause?  They pay a dividend of around 5%, pay off debt at a rate of about $100 million a quarter from operational revenue, and have 20 years worth top tier prospects to sustain and grow production at a steady organic rate.  Forget about share price.  As long as oil price stays at a reasonably good level, this company is churning out money through operations.  IMO share ...more

You may be correct but the market so far doesn't see it that way. I hold Whitecap as well and it has handeley outperformed over the past several months.

They've certainly took turns out in front at times, I hold both as well and WCP's lower debt is proving to be what the market likes.. but with higher daily production I think VRN can close the gap as the debt gets paid down.. IMO VRN has a bit more torque to oil prices but that can cut both ways..  Either way the divi's are both solid and cash will continue to roll in..  ;-)

Simple... a buyout by a CEO and board that values shareholders at least as much as their own personal enrichment.  Perhaps combined with a purge of staff to rid the company of its socialist employee culture.
