New prescriptions increasing

During the week endingJune 10, new prescriptions for dermatology drugs grew by 18.3%, whilenew prescriptions for Ophthalmology and Addyi grew by 14.7% and 20.9%, respectively on a weekly basis. Total number of prescriptions for Xifaxan and Jublia showed a weekly growth of 14.7% and 5.3%. Further inspection of the underlying statistics reveal that new prescriptions in dermatology recovered from 20.7% decline in the week prior. However, most of the drop in new prescriptions can be attributed to a four day week owing to the celebration of Memorial Day. The number of new prescriptions is amounted to 55,019, recovering from a slump in figures amounting to 44,966. In terms of total prescriptions, the growth was recorded at 15.2% for the week endingon June 10, recovering from a decline of 15.5% in the previous week. The number of total prescriptions grew from 65,310 to 77,005 for the concerned weeks. Ophthalmology prescriptions were also up significantly, as the new prescriptions grew by 14.7% for the same week. During the week, prior the new prescriptions had declined by 16.8%. The number of new prescriptions were 47,223, while, total prescriptions amounted to 60,955. Total prescriptions were also up by 12%.
