An ax to grind

It is true some major outfit, hedge fund or individual has been selling WCP for some time. Either because they do not like the company, for some reason, do not like the management, or because they may have lost a lot of money in the past and now are trying to depress the sh price. It is also a view expressed by Nuttel in one of his BNN shows that someone is selling either short or geting out of a long position. Whatever the reason, WCP i hope will come around and at some point will take off.

Windgod why short a company like Whitecap that pays a dividend, don't shorts have to cover all dividend payments?

They discount that from the profit margin, i suppose, but if the div, was double or triple than it is now, shorts would think twice before shorting the stock. In any case weak stocks get shorted often by the predator shorts because shorts have no scruples or concerns for the viability of a company.
