Bottomless ignorance

I was watching a chap today on CNBC saying that he is going to stay away from cryptos because "they do not have an intrinsic value". Citing Buffet, he said that these "assets" are risky because they do not have an "intrinsic value". He would not have a problem with gold because presumably gold has such value. Ignorance here has hit "red alert' and millions of people are watching these characters. We have been through this notion of "intrinsic value" before and we have shown that there is no such thing as "intrinsic value" on anything. Commodities have a use value when they satisfy a human need, and exchange value when they are exchanged for something else in the market mediated by money, the universal equivalent. Outside of these transactions there is nothing to speak of. But ignorance reins supreme in the stock market.

>But ignorance reins supreme in the stock market.< I suggest that you REIN in your criticism of Warren Buffet and those who quote him; there is little doubt that Mr Buffet is a much better judge of value in the stock market (intrinsic or other) than are you. I hate to RAIN on your parade, but I suspect that the currently REIGNing monarch of the British Commonwealth, Elizabeth II, might ...more

Buffet does not believe that gold or cryptos have an intrinsic value of any kind; in fact he says gold and cryptos are a product of hype that fools like yourself worship, buy and trade or own. Get your thoughts straight pal and do not just scratch to table in order to be noticed. The point of the argument is that there is not such thing as Intrinsic value. Period.

>The point of the argument is that there is not such thing as Intrinsic value.< The point of my post was that a man who arrogantly refers in English to his intellectual superiors as fools, should learn to use the correct English words. Ignorance of proper English is not always bliss.

Who is intellectually superior you or the money bags; I have yet to meet a rich man to be intelligent, unless you consider wealth and intelligence are the same. If you want to argue, refute the proposition that commodities  do not have an intrinsic value, otherwise, if you have nothing to say, keep your mouth shut, do not make a fool of yourself.

I'm thinking you've not met many rich people.

I suppose you never met intelligent people, other than money bags; I happened to respect scientists, artists and writers; You seem to be drowned in the hamburger culture and money laundering.

I would agrre with Buffet. Thou shalt not worhip idol Gods.   Although , the value of something is tied to what someone will pay for it. Find a fool greater than yourself.  My house is worth a couple Mil. Put it in Nova Scotia, maybe $ 200K .   Crypto, ESG, cannabis , " growth" tech stocks. All idiots chasing a trend . Until one day Wall Strret wakes up and decides to push ...more
