My holding in WCP is down 12%. is it time to panic or worth keeping for a comeback with a decent dividend? Your view on oil now? 

Oil is weak on a US inventory build and concern on China's economy. But it has always been cyclical. The key now is that the energy sector is in significantly better financial shape than in prior cycles. It can withstand a downturn quite easily (on average). With lower rates ahead in 2024, we would not have a lot of concerns on the sector, considering balance sheets and low valuations. We would be comfortable with WCP, collecting a nice dividend while awaiting a better sector sentiment. (5iResearch)

I think holding an oilco that has a very low debt burden, jumped on the repaying debt and  shareholders first and has a very high dividend with a reasonable payout ratio is a good bet. They are run by a seasoned pro who is patient and methodical when it comes to capital spending. I am not for EV's whatsoever . They are going to be horribly incovenient and not whatt is predicted . That being said , If you include the costs and future costs of global climate change I think we'd be at $ 100 a gallon . Its that bad and only getting worse . Every huge storm, flood, forest fire costs billions . This is not factored into the true cost of the product. Same with say ...more
