I fells like somebody dumped WCP at 4pm and bought VRN at the same time.  I wonder if that was the. case.
Comment by DivChase on Aug 08, 2024 10:36am
lol.  Well Baranja prepare to be disappointed.    This stock is stuck a 10$ for a decade.  Days like today are all too common(chronic underperformance).  I switched mostly to SU in April.  I expect capital gains and div over there.  I'm already 12% better off.     If div is all you seek, WCP is only good for that. I held almost a decade.  Didn& ...more

You think WCP is bad,,.. try VRN.  I know what you are talking about.  They abused us, oil and gas investors since 2014.  It is a  horror show in oil and gas sector since 2014.  Remember all of those Lib/NDP folks saying oil is dead, no more oil, we dont' need oil any more, they took oil price to negative while oil stocks went to become penny stocks. they are sill ...more

Oil and gas will be the permanently abused sector.  Everyone always complains about oil prices and always will.  You know in the last decade everything is 30-40% more expensive,  except oil and gas 50% cheaper .  Oil was what 126$ a barrel a decade ago.  In todays dollar accounting for approx 35% inflation.  We should be nearing 190$ a barrel. Here we linger at sub 80 ...more

Yup,.. I know. I have been saying that for the last 10 years.  Basically, everything else exploded in price, including Gasoline, but only Crude oil is not allowed to move from its 1990's values. And somehow all of those clown talking heads are calling oil expensive and blame it for inflation. Oil is the most rigged and most price suppressed commodity on the planet. Perhaps, silver is also ...more

Shudder to think if management is doing share buyback today.  If they are this thing would be red today without it
Comment by Canoftuna on Aug 08, 2024 3:29pm
You need to give Baranja a decade before you make that call...I've owned it for 5 years and it's the complete opposite...my largest holding by far...I own more than I should...should be free by year end with the divi..and every 4 years after....I say 20$ after their five year plan...with a juicy 10 cent divi....if oil plays nice...
Comment by DivChase on Aug 08, 2024 3:43pm
You were smart, lucky or both to have been in the position to buy after the double black swan event.  I wish I had significant cash at that time.  I was a good boy, stayed long never sold.  Before or during that crash.  Moral of the story, sell this when you can make a dollar because they will just crash this sheet again and again and again.  You forecast  WCP at 20$. ...more

45$ at 190$ oil.....I'm talking 75-85$.... 1 cent divi raise y/e jan...and one for the three years after...will get you there...again oil needs to participate....
Comment by DivChase on Aug 08, 2024 4:03pm
Your hilarious.   I'll let todays stock performance speak for itself.
Comment by Canoftuna on Aug 08, 2024 4:11pm
No humor here....pay off 1 bil in debt today...it'll open at 15$ in the am...only it's spread out over the next few years
Comment by Canoftuna on Aug 08, 2024 4:13pm
Hilarious is 20$ at 190$ oil
Comment by DivChase on Aug 08, 2024 4:26pm
Just to remind you we had 120$ oil in 2022.  The best this stock could do was 12$.  So 20$ at 190$ oil isn't funny at all.  That's the only way this will see 20$.  Also,  WCP will never be debt free.  Keep dreaming because the debt will only go up again after acquisitions.  CEO's just can't help themselves.
Comment by Canoftuna on Aug 08, 2024 5:03pm
yes...but the average price was 95$ for the year... 120$ was a blip.....and the stock came from way way way lower....the year prior... and the year before....not from where we are today....not looking for another 1000% over 3 years....only 100%....over the next 5 years.... 120$ for a year or two....this thing will break 20$ easy........
Comment by DivChase on Aug 08, 2024 5:40pm
Canoftuna!  If average price of wti was 95$ in 2022, the average WCP SP was  just 10-10.75 $.  20$ at 190$ oil sounds about right at this rate.  If a miracle happens and The Grant doesn't acquire a company, if the price of oil doesn't crash and stays steady, with debt reduction as promised by year end I see between 11 on low end and 12$ at best.  But we all know 2 ...more

I admire your optimism canoftuna!  Sustain 120$ for years.  Makes me feel fuzzy all over.
Comment by Canoftuna on Aug 08, 2024 6:43pm
That wasn't a prediction....I'm optimistic at 75- 85...
Comment by DivChase on Aug 08, 2024 6:59pm
That range. Ok If WTI makes it to  85$.  WCP Should hit 11$ (maybe not).   In April oil made 87$.   WCP managed only 10.87, but a few weeks later.  then crash and burn again. Not sure where your optimism comes from based on the dismal SP reaction to higher oil prices these last couple years.  This name has absolutely NO upside torque.  Jeeze, ENB has better ...more

Simple....5 more years of Q2 earnings......do like Scotia says...and make the switch.....
Comment by DivChase on Aug 08, 2024 7:40pm
I hope it goes as you indicate.  But I'll be out completely at 11$
Comment by DivChase on Aug 08, 2024 4:42pm
The big boys are pulling money out.  This war premium applied last few days ALWAYS fizzles out.  Plus tomorrow is Friday.  Isn't it tradition to be red on Fridays.
