Just going with the flow. The stock market is not about investing in companies so they can expand or do R&D anymore. It's about getting on the next wave of a fad .  Funds poured into VRN to $ 12.62 , algorithms chased it. I thought that was weird and nonsensical and I was right . Dumb money follows and the whole thing collapsed . Same as the oil contracts .  Follow the trend ...more

Thanks retiredcf, as always, your posts are the most salient. I appreciate Amrit's frankness, but her message is not exactly bullish for o&g . I notice how the market tends to overreact and amplify news. Amrit basically confirmed the demand slowdown with no end in sight. This fact could play out over the next several months and drag WTI down along with our share prices.

Some of the big banks are threatening oil prices down to $ 50 next year and 2026 . And yet not one mentions the OPEC put . They will never allow the price to stay down there as they will not be able to support their citizens or big plans for projects.  Just scare tactics to get clicks . I'm waiting for the next idiot to say it'll be $ 30 a barrel so he can get on BNN or CNBC.
