OPEC in a panic. China is flailing , the world is ending. How many times have we heard this before and ignoring rising  consumption and falling inventory. Oil shorts are at a record level . Oil may not be $100 in 12 months but everyone is doing  just fine at 70 to 80.

Yep.  Kind of dumb to be massively short in a market that is presently tight . All it takes is one glitch in supply or an official statement from OPEC to start the mother of all short squeezes . Hopefully sooner rather than later.  All the Saudi prince needs to say is that rumour was false and watch the shorts head for the exit. So tired of this though . Not sure how much more of this

Nobody here mentions the US election - the party in power always tries to tank oil prices to make it look like gas prices are falling.  "Rumours" say that OPEC will kill the market ...This has all the hallmarks of a US election ploy!

Politicians are completely incapable of orchestrating anything, let alone global markets. The only influence they may have is filling and emptying the SPR..

Not sure what you mean by 'everyone'. O&G names with strong balance sheets are fine, yes. But if you zoom out, most people are struggling to get by, pay the bills etc.
