Fed To Raise Interest Rate

Tthe Fed's hike in interest rates out in minutes...will they factor in the soon to be done Biden economic collapse? They are talking .75 - 1.0% hike, brutal...maybe they can see Biden a 'done' Pres walking and they don't raise? One can hope!! JMHO...Opt

My bold prediction is a .75 raise, markets should like it since they hate inflation more.

Opt was right all along, .75 hike, mkt likes it, bottom in at 4.20.  3 for 3. Then Safe, then 280e then CAOA - another 3 for 3

We won't be out done by that household killing rate hike by Biden and the Fed!! We have had 2 X.50pt hikes in "recent months"...now we are really going to 'win' as they plan to mirror the .75pt US raise, on top of the 1pt raised in recent months? Who will be the first to shed their middle class? JMHO...Opt (1) Bank of Canada likely to mirror U.S. Fed’s 75-basis-point rate ...more

Just to educate Optfool. Biden or any US presidents have nothing to do with the Feds decisions however Trump tried to interfere. Same goes for the prime minister and the Bank of Canada. Higher rates are necessary to control inflation and are still historically low. Higher rates are good for people on fixed income and for those like you that bomb in the stock market and maybe should try GICs

The epitome of weak and tiny minded here....this is why a loser, tyrannical government can survive and thrive, just load up with idiot subjects like this crud clown. Biden and team have created this coup on the folks from the jump. Inflation is their goal as it separates wealth from the middleclass at warp speed, what was the first thing they did getting the reins?...shut down the domestic oil ...more

Charlie this Clown won't ever understand. He's nothing but a massive embarrassment, and proves it every time he opens his mouth.

Yes I know Star. He can't even grasp basic economics. When he repeatedly refers to the weak and tiny minded,he's really referring to himself it's hilarious but also kinda sad since there are more and more like him egged on by a growing far right movement that ignore the truth in favour of their own agenda no matter what the cost.

Yes, twisted for sure.  I've actually tried to understand where their mindset even remotely comes from.  Typically, they are under-educated, and I think for the most part feel completely powerless in their life.  Like him or not (and I hate him with a passion), Trump tapped into these people and gave them a false feeling of power/control...the old "stick it to the man" ...more

Well said.  The right has always been associated with big business, a party representing wealth and the well educated.  In Canada back in the day, the Conservatives were a party that reigned in spending and were always cutting programs which helped the less fortunate.  They bucked at everything relating to the progress of the well being of common citizens.  Union leaders were ...more
