Canopy splitting up its Canadian operations
Canopy Growth said it will be breaking out its Canadian cannabis operations into a stand-alone business unit and laying off 55 staff, the move is meant to help the company reach profitability. As part of the changd Dave Paterson will now serve as its president of Canadian operations. Mr. Patterson is expected to drive greater accountability as the company tries to find sustainable growth. "Through the changes announced today, our structure and operations are now aligned with the areas of greatest opportunity and reflect Canopy's resolute focus on achieving profitability in Canada."

So as a stand alone it can fall alone, that being said,would it be reasonable to assume the stock will perform independently from that of the new US holding company and or CGC, or am I missunderstanding the risk here?
