Not a lot of faith in US politics
doing anything to promote the cannabinoid business on US soil beyond the failed political promises to offer some legislation to advance a new legal healthier vice than beverage alcohol.
American traders are buying on US exchanges but at another 10% ish discount while Canadian exchanges deal with the xmas doldrums and 2 stats, at least for the union people that are keeping us from trading until tomorrow.
7 million shares purchased today of CGC which I view as pretty good for them still having the heavy hand of the Feds hanging over them and no certified legal brokering that isn't hung together on the handshake deal that the Feds have to not prosecute if individual States are exercising their desires to be a part of the greenrush that is coming by way of political promise.
I don't think that I am too far out there when I postulated about the politicos charged with bringing this change to US politics that will clearly and decisevely legalize/decriminalize marijuana could be controlled by gangs and cartels who play much higher stakes than US politicians are willing to play to continue to have their foothold secured in the US potmarket.
7 times undelivered on Schumer and teams bill to get the Presidential pen stroke that will launch the US greenrush in the momentous fashion it deserves.
Is it lack of political will or fear that is holding this legislation up.
Canopy has announced that decriminalization isn't as important to them as it used to be and they are moving forward.
If you follow them and their business acquisitions they are probably more US than most realize, that is to say, well set up for touchdown in a big way in the US States that matter.
Canopy has Acreage Holdings locked up for their choice of US multi state operator to bring all of their brands and skus together and several other good players.
The plan is contingent on pulling all of them together under a new amalgamated company, CGC USA. There is a lot that has gone on quietly, almost behind the scenes. This has caught decent interest from US investors who are also positioning with Canopy and all of its objectives to maintain world leadership as a Multi State Operator and it looks like Canopy is willing to chance it under the same State Law protection that the US players are relying on.
