RE:RE:RE:Canopy reduced debt by $364 Million Dollars

Marketcap is calculated by taking the shares outstanding and multiplying it by the current shareprice, that's it.  The Marketcap of Canopy Growth was on par with that of Amazon at one point, again, due to the SP being so high and that number being multiplied by the shares outstanding.

The Marketcap number and the debt number are not related nor is it a reflection of the companies ability to pay off debt.

At the current rate of debt reduction the company can be 100% debt free part way through 2024.  Where will the marketcap be then?  Well, I can't say, nor can anyone else however the math will remain the same and it will be calculated by Shares x Shareprice.

It's important to know these calculations so I would strongly recommend doing a Google Search to understand it better.

SImply topic of conversation.  However, since you are discounting the values as they relate to each other...a point I will not argue because they are more relatable, each on their own, to the state of the company.  And that state is really bad. But losing money like they do, ever since they began, with critically low revenues quarter to quarter and yoy, paying off debt with assets sales ...more

Investing community doesn't trust this CEO, and most are waiting for the hammer to drop ie: split. This is predictable and you don't need to be an economist to follow the pattern. Institutional investors stay away from penny stocks, and  retail investors have lost trust in the company for good reasons, and are aware what will happen if they go ahead with a split. IMHO

Trust is earned, it is hard to gather and easy to lose.  The original CEO of Canopy Growth was one I didn't trust and was part of the reason I exited back in 2018 (or abouts).  The current CEO is not playing fast and loose like the original CEO and he is keeping his cards close to his chest.   I will admit, I did say he guy should be replaced if he couldn't make ...more

Still doesn't change the fact that institutional investors won't come near this penny stock, and with its past history, retail investors will stay put until they have concrete evidence the company can move ahead without the split.  Until then it is short heaven. IMHO

Absolutely agree. That earnings wasn't good enough. The USA MSO's tier 1 are killing it. I put my money there instead

This stock has a history and pattern, just look at today's SP. They were late turning things around, relied on the US for the last 3 years, waiting for the SP to tank and then announcing the potential of a split. Yet the CEO is still there. I agree, trust is earned!!!!! IMHO

Have you compared the movement of Canopy's stocks to other comparible companies within the sector?  The last major run up for the sector was when Biden took office and proclaimed he would advance Cannabis de-criminialization.  Since then he did little to nothing on that front.  Many of the Cannabis producers also took him at his word and expanded operations to account for ...more

Some fair points but, no reason to rush now to buy. The usa mso's are better value and actally had good earnings. I want to see another couple quarters and no reverse split. Would probably buy after reverse split and dilution.

I'll hold onto mine, may add if it dips again. When everyone else gets all comfy and delighted and wanting to buy then maybe I'll sell a few.  I don't mind waiting.

That is Soooo far into the future.  WEED is too dependant on US growth,  Legalization will NOT happen there unti AFTER next election, meaning February 2025. Weed stock will meander between .48 cents and .95 cents from now until then. That is why I have touted HITI here in the past, It has NO involvemnet with  USA . ONLY with growth of retail outlets in Canada  Now at 156 ...more

You nailed it!  I totally agree! All of the deviousness and complicated deals and accounting reports that have this shareholder wondering who's court Klein is playing in. Confidence and trust that he will put shareholders first has me wondering which shareholders he is backing, Canopy or STZ? We have been on the verge of black ink for several of these financial reports and it hasn' ...more
