Lumber futures under $500 for july now

https://futures.tradingcharts.com/marketquotes/LB.html      I really didn't think it would go quite this low , and it looks like it wants to dropp further.  I think we have seen the highs for wef for the near to medium term.  I'm pretty much out of wef now , have about a 1/4 position and not planning on adding any back at least for a while .

FERRET I KNOW YOU KNOW YOUR STUFF BUT USE SOME COMMON SENSE...WHEN WEF WAS AT 2.90 ..LUMBER WAS WHAT...THEY ARE MUCH BETTER I THINK FINACIALLY NOW DONT YOU THINK..YES LUMBER PRICES MATTER BUT LOTS OF OTHER THINGS DO MORE...WHY IT HAS BEEN 2 DOLLARS FOR LAST DECADE ON AVERAGE IS WHAT IS TO BE FIGURED OUT...SOLID BUT NOT VERY GOOD AS FAR AS STOCK PRICE ...ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN NOW...

Excuse my ignorance but this refers to the cedar and hemlock futures in what percentage? It appears though an earlier post that C and H prices were still highly elevated. I'm not living in a dream thinking they will stay there of course. The lowering prices for commodity lumber and OSB are a significant sentiment headwind for WEF but I find it hard to imagine that they are or will be ...more

A Futures contract is the price per 1000 for a rail car of 2x4 #2 or better SPF. This invariably effects the hemlock price as it is a white wood and replaces SPF in certain markets and applications. Cedar is a different ball game and its price could and should hold up % wise but still comes down with the general market. Anyways these are Sept futures now and cash prices are higher but adjusting ...more

another poster answered your question  on futures and c and h pretty much. I don't think there's a ton of upside here with futures now in the 500's, I see maybe possibly getting back to 2.50 ish but there is also downside risk if it's held too long,, all these forestry stocks are commodity stocks and you have to play the cycles, they are trading stocks not rip stocks, you ...more

I bought at .82 .85 and .92. Sold it all at 1.80. This ones going much lower. If I do get back in. Id be looking to start a new position around .25 cents. JMHO. GLTA.
