I read the article and i have a mix feeling about that decision. On one hand it shoudl help the share price to reach $ 9.80 to $ 10.00 in a near future. That would be a positive effect for shareholders. On the other hand, getting rid of cash for buyback may be a risky option for one who is looking for growth true acquisition. Any tough...

I think at this point it is more important to fight the price manipulation and short sellers. That's what this does.  WELL has done so much on the acquisition front, I wouldn't worry that they are lagging there. The most pressing concern are the short positions and money managers with a war chest of their own to drive the price down.

By buying back their stock low, and focusing on a US IPO, this will drive more money into the company allowing them to expand further. This may be the only time they get the opportunity to do this.

with a limit of 2.5% of the float (4.8MM shares) i am doubtful they'll buy anything of significance - it's likely just a move to set a floor on the stock price CRH Medical had a buyback program in place for the last 2 years and DID buy shares every month as they spin off a fair bit of FCF. i think WELL needs the FCF to leverage to fund their M&A as it is a much better use of ...more

I like the NCIB...... If the share price is driven down for whatever reason, I am more than happy to have my shares increase in value as buybacks occure. It opens up the tool to their use, nothing more. A higher share price allows WELL health to acquire other companies by using shares, so in fact, it is VERY helpful for acquisitions to keep the share price from big dips by implememnting the NCIB ...more
