Geopolitical?

I noticed that gold is making a pretty strong  move as I write. Also saw news that Ukrain is stepping up its incursion.
As an aside: I have a TD acc't in the states.
Local branches are refusing cash for certain transactions. I was floored.
I wonder what this portends. I don't think it's the only bank adoptting this policy.
Get ready for whatever.

I wonder what the refusing cash transactions is all about? Do they know something that isn't being disclosed?

Maybe has something to do with money laundering as in large amounts of cash. This could be depositing larger cash denominations. I have never had any issues in the past only withdrawals of larger than 5 grand at a time they need some notice.

Rainman, We are talking about a one hundred dollar money order here. In the U.S. banks are supposed to flag ten thousand dollar transactions.  I can buy that.  But a small money order for a long time account holder. Gimme a break. Something is wrong with that picture. I suspect that they may be preparing us for a cashless society.

That is sad if TD can't accept cash for a one hundred dollar money order.

The same thing  applies in Canada. There is paperwork to fill out if a $10,000 plus deposit is made. Fintrac  requirement.  I'm going to see how things work tomorrow because I need to pull $3000 for a project. See if the Bank gives me dog lips!
