JV with AVL?

Does the JV announcement mean WPRT doesn't have the capability of designing a viable H2 combustion engine on their own? The market's reaction to today's NR is a bit scary.

Hmmm, just got a price alert email. Not sure how to advise Bookworm. You could say that about both companies. Neither's technology is strong enough on their own? You could also say they're technology is stronger together? I don't know anything about AVL. A quick read from today's NR, and they sound very similar to WPRT. The NR mentions 2022 for an update? Not bullish, that much is

Thanks for the honest opinion PS. I looked at AVL's NR for today's announcement, and all they mention is working with WPRT to improve on their NG engine's efficiency. No mention of hydrogen engine. AVL has recently developed their own hydrogen ICE, so I'm a bit fuzzy on what WPRT's NR really means, as far as H2 and AVL's collab goes. https://www.avl.com/-/avl-and-westport
