Timing

My understanding from the Engineering and Subsurface Well Design Agreement of April 21, 2016, is that it would be at least 8 months before that study was done and only then could they make a definitive decision on the direction forward. I'm not expecting anything until December, and it is not clear yet whether they will commit to the Pilot Plant plan at that time. The Chinese investment in the overall is reassuring but not a definite go-ahead either. Best news is that potash is improving overall, so when all the facts are in, they will be more likely to begin actual development.

patntgem, do you know if this patent is the method currently being demonstrated within the Milestone Project? I had read somewhere that a new method consisting of horizontal drilling and solution mining was being investigated. https://www.google.ca/patents/US8991937 TIA

All I know is what is on the web-site and I would think they are exploring all viable variations on the Pilot Plant model as a way forward with a lower threshold. Maybe there is a cheaper method within that, using an inovative tech that would lower costs further.  Truthfully, I don't know what to think of WPX's situation. Right now, both positives and negitives seem very speculative.
