SH scores

I've noticed that a low SH score usually means a good time to buy on REITs, particularly WRK. :)

Not sure what is meant by a "SH" score? But I agree with your comnets "good time to buy REITS , notably White rock reit."First reits in general:True reits make income from the spread on what they can borrow $$ for against the rental income from the properties. Some think REIts income is determined from property values. For the most part that is furhtest from the truth. The modle ...more

I agree 100% cfan. "SH score" is the Stockhouse score as shown on the portfolio page - currently at 32. They recommend buying stocks with a score of 60+. Unfortunately, when a stock has a score of 60+, it has been going up for some time already and is usually about to correct. This makes it a lagging indicator for some stocks. :)

Your point of using SH scores as a lagging indicator has been working for the past while.Another place I like to get informatio is from Royal Action Direct , technical analysis. They can display about 6 different charts. The only one which appears to make sense is the The stochastic oscillator . The oscillator appears on the chart in a lower panel and is bounded by 0 and 100. At 0, the current ...more

Great call Baer1 !!Looks like the SH lagging indicator was correct.Saying that , still 3-4 more days of the same possible, before the recent climb has much effect on the trend.A ewwk ago, the units spkied upto the same level then fell away the same day. This one appears to hold.Crazy as the market is, once the price is above $13, it will move up at a greater rate.Quite a few have been sitting ...more

Agreed (all this agreeing make me wonder if I'm really on Stockhouse buulboards!) but we are still hostage to world economic issues. Every time there's bad news from Europe or Asia we take a hit because investors are afraid that either a downturn in commodity demand or an increase in interest rates will have a negative impact on REITs. We know that WRK has been very good about refinancing ...more

After a long wait, wrk.un has just lifted above $13 in the us market there is good following in the states as jason has been down to present to a large, investor group This link could be one of the reasons for the rcent rise. https://seekingalpha.com/article/269978-6-ideas-for-buying-dividends?source=yahoo

i like seeking alpha but why in the world the writer selected wrk.un as an investment to implement the buy before and sell after ex-div date is beyond me.  Wrk.un is nowhere near liquid enough to do this and there are sooo many better candidates out there than whiterock to implement this strategy.

I'm not so concerned about when interest rates rise as that would presumably indicate the economy is on the upswing which would, you would think, be a boost to stock prices. This recent little climb has been nice although I wouldn't mind not shooting up too too much so as to pick up some more shares through the drip in the $11s
