Two Simple Questions

1. Why did Goldcorp acquire Coffee in the first place? 2. Why has Newmont not disposed of it? There must be answers to these two questions. Enlighten me. Enlighten me, please. Want to see what other folks thoughts are on all this. Thanks!

I can't answer the questions (and they are good questions that I'd like to know the answers to as well), but I know someone who can.  Ken Williamson, on the WRN board of directors was a director at Goldcorp prior to the Newmont aquisition.  He'd know............

Newmont purchased Gold Corp - April 18, 2019, 3 days after Ken Williamson joined Western Copper and Gold BOD's. The million $ question now is can our new BOD's, equal or better the deal cut between Western Silver and Glamis Gold, and I believe that is attainable. I ...more

Thanks, Blue! This is a very big piece of the jigsaw puzzle we've been trying to complete. Starting to crystallize. Bravo, boys, this has been a team effort. We've all been a part of it. Now, wouldn't it be great if we could wrap it and send it off by Christmas?

Yes, it certainly does, Blue! Thanks!

Goldcorp (a Canadian behemoth in the gold industry prior to NEM merger) looks to add to its strategic resource base in the of the last few, relatively untapped domestic sources of gold in the Yukon. Granted, maybe the "overpaid" for Coffee in the short-term, but long term it was a strategic acquisition that gave them a foothold in the newly devloping gold district. Either they flip ...more
