Newmont acquires GT Gold

All cash deal for $456mCAD. This project is miles behind Casino: barely past discovery, pre PEA, a fraction of the size.

Problem is Yukon , its infrastructure, political problems , untrue FNs .. it will be resolved after tipping point , after that we talk about possible deal .  I will not bother comparing to Casino and it's mine life .  they are double our market cap but gold heavy deposit  it is just sad

We are excited to expand our world-class portfolio to include the Tatogga project in the Tahltan Territory located in the highly sought-after Golden Triangle district of British Columbia, Canada," said Newmont president and CEO Tom Palmer, in a statement. "Newmont recognizes that our relationships with Indigenous, First Nations and host communities are critical to the way we operate. We ...more

Personally, comoaring time and gain, I prefer to decrease the gain to save time. If Yukon government want more cut, negotiate and give them the cut to save time.

At this point, absolutely agree. If we're powerless to stop the game, at least cut them in on our terms. I'd rather own 90% of Casino fairly valued than 100% of it at this present MC.

"Comoaring"?  Do you think you people could write coherent thoughts with complete sentences and proper grammar without the cryptic nonsense words and misspellings so that if you have an actual worthwhile thought the rest of us might have a clue what it is?  Thanks!

I am sorry, it is "comparing", Actually, if your English is good enough, you can get it and autocorrect this mistyping.
Comment by MetalMinded on Mar 10, 2021 1:09pm
Really?  I make pelnty of typos (had to  reveiw and correct several in this response just to avoid your criticism).  And English is my first language.  We are here to discuss WRN, not criticize each other's language misteps.
Comment by longtermholder6 on Mar 10, 2021 2:06pm
That's right, everyone makes a typo mistake now and then and when you click on post it's too late to correct....................... no big deal.
Comment by GardenManman on Mar 10, 2021 2:35pm
Metalminded, my post responded to metal666 and explain my type error "comparing", English is not my first language. You are right, just focus on company, not the mistyping issue.

Looking through some of the recent GT Gold news releases. It's clear that two institutional shareholders, K2 & Muddy Waters, were at odds with the current board. They were going so far as to publicly advocate throwing out the current slate in favor of their own. Now go back to Pierre's interview posted yesterday. These things get sold when there is pressure on the Board of Directors.  ...more

Oops, TYPO ALERT!!  I meant to say "Michael...with OUR ownership structure..."
Comment by MetalMinded on Mar 10, 2021 3:04pm
I have to imagine that the recent increases or large new positions in institutional ownership will also increase the pressure.  They will need to show a return on their investment in reasonably short order.  And the "return" on a junior mining stock like this is in a SALE, not in permitting and going forward with starter mine.

Money - kind of lost on this comment - can you expand for those of us not as close to the Yukon, regulators, & FN politics please
Comment by Moneymann on Mar 10, 2021 4:18pm
I know Soon, i myself am getting too far sometimes, But territories, elections and power struggle are increasingly pressuring valuations. I view move by Newmont as mistake unless they are ready to give big chunk to Talhan. Their Overall Cost Was low due to their 15%. I will give full Update in 3 weeks time
