Fidelity Investments in WRN ....

Hi Guys:

Let me repeat myself a bit to help calm things down!  Fidelity now owns about 17 million shares.  Last quarter, they sold off a few 100 thousdand shares to make their quarter look good, but now thay have re-purchased those shares and are back to 17.1 million total again.

My Fidelity broker tells me that there is no way that the Fidelity mutual fund team would spend over $30 million without conducting a personal visit(s) to the Board and/or Yukon site.  I have to think they know something about the potential of WRN and its sale price, but I might be wrong.  Let's hope we get some good news soon (like Dale said)!

Hang in their a bit longer......it will be more than $6/share (you heard it from Pappy)!!

Pappy - I'll suggest (again) some of these site double count the house with the individual fund. Fidelity (FMR) in total owns 8.9m shares - https://whalewisdom.com/stock/wrn Scroll down and click on "Q3 2021 13F filings" And as always, love the enthusiasm. Love it.

Hi JClark:  You are only looking at ome of their mutual fund holdings, not both of them. pappy

Pappy - flagged this for reminder to me to come back when it's > $6 usd to say ....you were right old man!!!! But ....sorry..... you heard it 1st from Sooner --- $6 USD target for sellout!!!
Comment by nmpappy78 on Nov 17, 2021 10:16am
Sooner:  If my figures are close, that would be a $1 billion purchase ($6 X 160 million shares) for over $100 billion of copper, gold, silver, and moly!  In other words, a 1% sale price!  Dale will die with the mine on his hands rather than give it away for nothing.

Correct me if I am wrong, but 1 billion price tag comes from Paul interview, he said that Rio will not pay 2 billions, but 1 billion is possible.

He did, but then "backtracked" on that saying the NPV is probably about 2.5B (I don't remember exactly what he said).  Now it may not be a backtrack in a partnership scenario with another suitor.  Perhaps Rio only puts in 1B but another partner in the buyout puts up the other 1-1.5B?
Comment by Sooner on Nov 17, 2021 7:11pm
I was saying $6 usd per share even before the interview where Paul said as much.... Typical acquistions are going to be around 40% or so NPV --- that puts you around $1B cad or $800M usd --- gives you $5 usd per share.... i would try to squeeze another $0.3 usd per share based upon $50M in the bank (or some stupid silly amount that is good for nothing stupid raise for no idiodic reason when they ...more

Sooner, I prove that you are the first one for 6 USD takeover.
Comment by Heywood_Silvers on Nov 17, 2021 8:53pm
Our (sometimes bumbling, yet mostly beloved) CEO was talking tongue in cheek when he said a $2 billion buyout won't happen.  He was basing that supposition on unreasonably low metal prices combined with an unreasonably high discount rate on the NPV calculation all taking place in a lackluster environment where nobody is engaging in M&A. Now, fast forward to where reality is leading ...more

Hi Heywood: I am on the same "train" as you are!!  Great to read your thoughts and expectations.  Did you see where Fidelity bought about 900,000 more shares yesterday bringing their total to about 18.2 million shares!!  They certainly have done their homework and visitations to invest over $30,000,000 in WRN.  Same train that we are on!!! Fidelity is investing for the long haul, they aren't going to be worried about day to day fluctuations.  Personally, I think everyone who is invested in the metals needs to have exposure to WRN, it is that good of a story.

Heywood: One more piece of info for you.  Dale sold the Piniasquito Mine in Mexico several years ago when gold was at about $800 per ounce for $1.6 billion.  It had 2 million ounces of gold and zero copper.  Can we really expect WR to sell for the same price when gold is now +/_$1800 and we have 5x as much gold PLUS 20 billion tons of copper, not even counting the silver/moly?  ...more

pappy, different digging cost the have different price even same amount metal, that's why they use PEA, feasibility report to descripe the price tag.

When considering what happeded with Western Silver and how it will likely play out with WRN, it is akin to Ebay.  For those familiar with that platform, items are bid on with the bidding set to expire at a fixed day and time.  You can have a $2,000 item that will, early in the process, be bid at $100.  However, near the very end, the true prices are revealed.....at the end of the ...more
