As anyone who has followed the WRN board knows, I am about the biggest Homer for WRN out there.  That being said, be careful what you wish for in terms of the share price getting too far ahead of itself.  Once this breaks $2 USD, honestly, it isn't going to provide the best bang for the buck and (at least in my view) will get supplanted by other juniors who are jockeying for ...more

Sorry Heywood If they are in talks I want this as close to $6.00 as possible, yes the price today nowhere near our guyout value. But is helps if your shares are trading closer to the ultimate buyout price ! 16 yrs is to long to hold even on a back burner ! M2
Comment by GardenManman on Feb 25, 2022 6:43pm
such amounts options last week means much, market understand that it will be final talk. Market capital will go to a reasonable level, then deal come out, then Rio takeover with premium (maybe 30%). If no deal happen, it will drop much. So, if you believe the deal happen in June, options amounts means much.

I think you've got it Garden! IMO - we will start to see news releases timed that will get our market cap  within 40% of agreed to price and then deal announcement will be put out.  again - there is no way an announcement comes out that has anything more than 50% premium to current market cap. You will find very few examples like that!!!

Using your logic and target price (I heard it somewhere first), then you expect the share price to be in resign to around $4.30US because of times new releases?  Their will then "enable" a buyout offer of $6US/share?
Comment by Heywood_Silvers on Feb 26, 2022 2:03pm
Sooner, that would be a very weird (to say the least) converstion between the BoD and RIO if both sides want to negotiate a buyout that will (I think we all agree) will esily be in excess of $ 1 billion USD if the current market cap of WRN is hanging around $300 million. Well Paul, we'd really like to strike a deal and you would too.  Our internal figures support your multi billion ...more

Agree Heywood and what I've been saying too.  The "premium to market cap" is a result, not a driving factor.  It's just a place where things naturally land as the market gets wind of a deal.  The buyout offer an negotiations do not in any way consider current market cap or premium as a determining factor in the offer price.
Comment by GardenManman on Feb 26, 2022 2:34pm
now, market price $1.8, as sonner's price $6, or Heywood price $10+, if takeover happen next week, the premium price will be 230% or 400+%, do you think Rio shareholders have no doubt to vote for yes? And you can count other junior mine takeover cases, are there so many takeover cases with huge premium? Last interview, Paul encouraged market to buy , and they finised the huge Options grant, so ...more

Well Garden, the buyout won't happen next week and the market will get an inkling about any potential buyout before it happens.  Then the share price will go up and the premium won't be so high.  But again, the buyout price and premium over market cap is a result, not a driver, and it will end up around thentypical tendency in the Junior mining buyout space of market cap AT ...more
Comment by GardenManman on Feb 26, 2022 6:09pm
sure, the real driver is the takeover, everybody know WRN is undervalued, but they don't buy, even Paul said buying, huge options granted, that means much, who want to buy it at 50MA, it is an action of "sell put @50MA", benefit is limited but "risk" much high(maybe you miss much gain), if I believe there is a deal at June, buy it now instead of wait for one more correction ...more

If current market cap and our trading does NOT matter...then why is Paul doing anything from an IR standpoint???? What's the point if that at all if it's a waste of time and like so many of you say ----the current market cap has NO bearing on the Rio price. That's a ridiculous position to take! Of course current market cap matters...Rio would NOT look good from their shareholder ...more
Comment by Heywood_Silvers on Feb 27, 2022 5:23pm
Sooner, I agree, shorting WRN is a fool's game right now.  Why is Paul pounding the pavement so to speak if the trading price doesn't matter?  Well, I believe that the ultimate goal is to get as many investors as possible into the category of "strong hands".  Strong hands will not easily take a lowball offer   I'm not worried about enough retail ...more

Hey Marine, I don't fault you for wanting the price to go up.  Everyone loves seeing green in their portfolio.  Just as long as we are all aware that buying into strength breaks one of the cardinal rules of investing!! Day traders and flippers buy on the way up, investors buy on the way back down. Shares trading near the ultimate buyout price, I would say around $10 and then with ...more

if you have much confidence on gold to $2500 in one year, why you not just buy gold future directly with leverage, frankly, I don't expect copper & gold have a massive up, I just expect stable metal price, then let the deal done this year, each side win-win.
