I see Mark Bristow from Barrick there as well. Nice if they could sit down and have a chat!!

I listened to this interview today from the BMO Conference with Pierre Lassonde interviewed by  Michelle Mikori. Pierre covers off allot of topics that will be impacted by the Russian/Ukraine conflict if it should continue for another month. There are also several other topics he discusses as well. I found the interview to be very informative and interesting. Hope you enjoy it. https://www ...more

I listened to Barrick interview---when he said "the best deal you can do....." I thought for sure he was going to end it with..... "is one that is free!"
Comment by Pinegrove on Mar 02, 2022 8:45am
Yes, I know what you mean.  He aknowledged that properties are going for a premium now, but boy he sure doesn't like the idea.  He wants to buy something and then find out it has alot more minerals than thought.  Wants something for free for sure......

I don't understand the fascination with Barrick here (not saying you, Sooner, are). Since my efforts at hinting have failed, let's review. Barrick's criteria for investment are primarily: - 20% top-line IRR. Casino is 19.5%, which I'm sorry to say, does NOT equal 20% - $1200 long-term gold prices. Our PEA uses $1600. - 500k ounces of production annual. We only start at 386k per ...more

Wants 20% IRR , 500k oz annual gold, also wants copper , doesn't want to pay premium, etc, etc , etc.  good luck with that...maybe he needs to think about getting more sleep rather than less...and just because he's an old inefficient dinosaur doesn't mean everyone is

I didn't see it, was it bad?
Comment by Sooner on Mar 02, 2022 4:14pm
I wouldn't call it bad ---- but clearly these structured presentations that have a firm time limit are not his strong suit.  I mean it seems like he does much better when it's an interview format -- and dialogue back and forth --- rather than these structured complete your dog and pony in 15 min type of thing. honestly the only thing i got out of it was met work 25% completed (at ...more

Great, you saved me the 15 minutes. Met work 25% done is no different than 1-2 presentations ago. So either he's on autopilot, or we've made no progress on it. Volume has been terrible, but that we're up 42% over last 3 months (when we released POSITIVE resource confirmation results) leads me to believe more going on than meets the eye.
Comment by Pinegrove1 on Mar 02, 2022 4:45pm
Any mention of the balance of drill results?  We're into March. I would of thought we'd see them by now
Comment by Sooner on Mar 02, 2022 6:43pm
No mention on drill results that I recall
Comment by Heywood_Silvers on Mar 02, 2022 6:23pm
Volume is terrible because most observers can see that the markets are wobbling worse than a drunk after a night at the bars.  Why invest now when the market is about to roll over? I have a certain high quality gold junior who, despite gold wanting to rip to $2,000 has just set all time lows in share price despite their project being in the best shape it has ever been in.  Why are the ...more

Where’s this presentation that everyone keeps talking about? I’m having trouble finding it. Thanks!

WRN Corp website under events. It was live and replay not avail. Perhaps under BMO a replay is avail.

Thanks, Sooner! Sorry I missed it.
Comment by Moneymann on Mar 02, 2022 11:32pm
Metal prices none of us can complain central zone proven BUT issue with capital keeps coming back , only few can chew capital cost and lack of infrastructure is harming , you Heard- him saying inflation , he downplayed , but anybody knows him will say first nothing then in few months become big issue.we are at the mercy of few big miners that I don't like . canadian politics left the ...more

Inflation - that's partly the reason I believe NPV is the best way to judge the project. One can sit here and say at current spot it's another +$2B....but that's simplistic approach ----because it indeed doesn't take into account capex is not a static number either! Unless copper and gold goes up much faster than general inflation---we need to consider that capex also increases and ...more
