The selling doesn't even make that much sense. Granted gold and copper prices are sliding a little in the market but not by much. Perhaps the sit down with Rio didn't go well...

or perhaps the market drawing some conclusion that the $2.7B Rio offer that came out today for a different project means the offer to acquire WRN isn't as close to coming out as we had thought...

The general rule of thumb, from my observations, is that whatever the % gain or loss in the underlying commodity you see about double the movement in the share price.  We were up to about $5 copper the other day and last I checked we had slid to around 4.50, so that is 10%.  Expected drop in the share price could be upwards of 20%, which would bring the trading price to around the 50 day ...more

heywood, you just do some assumptions and prediction on MA50 to buy, at the same time you diss the daytrader. You are the most optimistic guy and predict the price of takeover to $15+. It is a big risk to wait possible correction instead of buying. It means: you wait to increase 20% more position(share price from $1.7 to $1.45), but maybe unfortunately miss the 800% gain(from $1.7 to $17).

Garden - exactly correct. If i was as confident as most of those on this board ---- i could care less if it drops another $1....and i wouldn't try to time the market. If you firmly believe in $15 per share......who cares about any moving averages, etc....you should be buying hand over fist right NOW! If you buy at $1 or $2 ---- it doesn't really matter if you are so convicted in $15/share ...more
