Hypothetical example -
Providing some facts - assuming sell short 1000 shares every day for X years, here's how much of a gain /loss you would have. The only period that is favorable is over prior year. I'm not trying to say over the prior 16 years WRN has been a great investment to this point...but I am trying to show that dollar cost averaging is still nothing like a total mistake and loss like meathead claims.
1 year of shorting 1000 shares daily every day results in gain of $21k.
2 year shorting 1000 shares daily every day results in loss of $83k
3 year = loss $339k
4 year = loss $597k
5 year = loss $769k
10 year = loss $1,984k
15 year = loss $2,125k
I'm not sure how shorting is a winning strategy ...oh yeah.... I forgot meathead is smart enough to time the market at same time as smoking meth while worshipping his pet monkey
