Temptation bites

And as we dither Rome burns.  1.69. I'm fighting the urge to buy. The story is that good. Management not so much.

This is a lot like marriage.  It takes two parties to end up married but only one to end up divorced.  Management can no more force RIO to the table than RIO can force them.  However if Managemnt does not play nice, RIO can just walk away, which they haven't.  From what I know about acquisitions, there is ALOT going on that we do not know about and management cannot tell us ...more

metal, once again, stop defending management who sell shares at these levels. Never forgive on these sale, that's not emotional.
Comment by GardenManman on Aug 30, 2022 10:37am
you guys always show your nice to these incompetent management.

Garden, take a step back, go check Paul's sale history, and you will see that this was neither significant in qty or timing.  Paul has sold similar quantities at similar times of the year for years.  I don't need to know his reasons.  I used to get options and stock awards in the company I worked for. I sold them as soon as I got them.  Why?  Because I already ...more

Why not just reach out directly to Paul and ask the questions rather than speculate---and for people to imply just because someone exercise option as cash option...that means him bearish on WRN is a stretch! Maybe he didn't have cash to put up to buy the shares at strike price. I would venture to guess that 90% of the time options are exercised with cash option....at least that's how I' ...more

And very good point metal...although some on this board expect (I guess) for insiders to have 100% of their net worth in WRN??? I guess they are also expected to not have equity in home...max out credit cards...no conservative investments...nada ...nothing else...everything wrapped up in WRN only..... that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard!!!

Sooner, 1. They read this board. So. No need for email and it is easy to feed you with personal excuse. 2. WRN is the junior mine, just burn and consume money and no any revenue and cashflow , it is totally different story with Apple shares sale by Tim Cook. 3. If he has enough cash for him to exercise option. Why grant him so much every year so that he can't afford to excercise and sell ...more

Garden, have you ever invested in a Junior mining company before?  Nothing here is unusual.
Comment by GardenManman on Aug 30, 2022 5:28pm
this is first time and will be last time.
Comment by Heywood_Silvers on Aug 30, 2022 6:32pm
Each has to invest according to their risk tolerance, level of patience, confidence within their own due diligence, etc.  That being said, no other sector provides the type of upside that the juniors provide when measured from trough to peak on a long term cyclical chart. You aren't going to get 10, 20 or 50 baggers investing with the crowd in the S&P 500 or DOW index stock market ...more

I am invested in 4 Junior mining companies at various stages of exploration and development.  This process you see at WRN is quite normal in this space.  Sorry you are so frustrated.

Garden - not that it matters since it seems you have you mind made up and nothing will change. The best tip i can provide is if you don't trust management, you really should sell and move on. There is nothing worse for you than to keep beating your head against the wall with this investment if you don't trust management. As they say....either suck it up buttercup or move along to a ...more

okay, Sooner, I am temporarily convinced by Paul's response. I will turn this page and wait for nov.

MetalMinded I agree fully with your statement, " there is ALOT going on that we do not know about and management cannot tell us" These buyout's can come from nowhere at any time. Last time for me was with Integra Gold, I knew Eldorado had the same kind of deal with ICG as Rio has with Western, just when ICG shares was tanking to below .50 then Eldorado came out with an offer  ...more

M2, if so, Do you think that Paul is stupid to sell shares if there is a deal recent?
Comment by Marine2 on Aug 30, 2022 11:12am
GardenManman Yes the timing of Paul selling of shares is a little questionable, I like to think there is a bigger picture here. Paul is in for a lot more money then the few shares he sold in the market, Sold a few shares for a little vaction money! IMO How many millions do they "insiders" stand to make on stock options & rights that have ? The Nov closing date, "sit down" ...more

I am better thinking that he has no extra money to execute the upcoming options.
