Incomparable Transaction

How can we compare WRN to a company with 2, nearly 3 operating assets, and several more under development? They produce revenue. We do not.

The most recent comparable transaction, IMO, is the Josemaria buyout:

Casino is considerably larger even if it is similar stage of development.  I use similar stage loosely as they are planning to do further resource definition after the purchase.

I am going to have to go with metalminded on this. I can understand Lundin/Jose Maria except for the fact they are in Central America, a less stable jurisdiction. But Oz Minerals, get real. Yes, they may have a producing project, but when you look at what they've got, this would put Casino at hundreds of dollars per share. I know that is an insane suggestion. I'll give Oz a few points ...more

"Geez, Paul, release the results." Yes, 100% And with yet ANOTHER fresh schedule of events on the website, you'd think they'll release everything before end of January, right? RIGHT?? Hey SH, your new "quote" feature is terrible.

Go back to FS release and Paul's chat with Trevor immediately following. Most important takeaway from the FS is we now have reserves, not just a resource estimate. Reserves, shown to be economic at an FS confidence level, THIS is what someone's buying. We see our reserves quite comprable to JM, in parenthesis below: Copper: 6.85b lbs (6.7b lbs) Gold: 8.62m oz (7m oz) I'd say rather ...more

For those thinking above $10 usd...need to wake up and get real!  No one is paying 100% of NPV of our FS. As you stated Clark...even Paul has stated $2B buyout isn't realistic...and has also stated I think recently that in order to even get from current 15% NPV to 50% that typically moves with clarity and great progress on permitting. Oz compared to WRN??? don't bother comparing ...more

Sooner, you are looking backwards as we are on the cusp of a paradigm shift in the monetary system.  It is like we are sitting in the year 1900 and you are preaching that buggy whips are and will remain the future and that autos will never gain any traction. What do you think will happen when fiat gives up the ghost and we are on a gold-backed digital curreny system?  Assuming Casino is ...more

well of course ...in the long run ALL fiat currencies go to zero (as will the USD)...so you are correct...at some point I think civilizatoin will go back to sound money. BUT...a big BUT....I am NOT relying on that taking place in my lifetime let alone banking my retirement and investment decisions entirely on that. I understand your view though and totally agree with your logic if that's ...more

X-Factor being a bidding war between a few. I know Rio is gun shy but I look around and seen others go for almost triple what it was worth with less information. We can onlyhopethe same happens here with others involved.

Sooner, I think you need to look at Paul's comment on $2 billion not possible in context. He was pressured in an interview in very early stages of negotiating with Rio. What could Paul say? He had just got a big fish interested in the bait. He didn't want to do anything to get the fish to swim. That fish has a reputation of being a hard baller. Paul had probably already heard an unofficial ...more
