Step 1: String the market along for nearly a year. Step 2: Finally release studies that quite honestly, most investors without a geology background don't really understand - myself included. Paul did allude to this earler, so credit where due. Step 3: Include in those results obviously weak drilling intercepts. I'm taking the anomoly as being inconsequential at best, a waste of time ...more

“yeah. I mean. We have done an incredible drilling  campaign ” Paul repeated.

These are pretty good MET results given the tonnage WRN have and pretty much as expected and upside on the gold recoveries adds to the appeal. If Clarke is correct, this starts the clock.on Rio. By late Q2 / Q3 offers will be on the table!

For the uninitiated, Ivan's referring to a Rio SEC filing accompanying the 12 month extension November 23rd. From Item 3, Paragraph 4: "On November 23, 2022, RTCI also exercised its rights under the Investor Rights Agreement to extend RTCI’s rights ..... through November 28, 2023, or through the date that is six months after the completion of the Study, as applicable." ...more

Ivan how to interpret the results of the deep anamoly? I mean why can't they boil it down to how much metals estimated in that area and average grades of entire area???
Comment by CopperAndGold14 on Jan 17, 2023 10:07pm
It's impossible to make an estimate of the deep anomaly based on one drill hole. There are deep rock mines 900+ meters deep that are economically extracting gold at 4g/t from veins 3 meters in thickness. But without a lot more holes, WRN can't build out the extent of the high grade portion of the anomaly. It's a red herring at this point, but it does provide a tantalizing glimpse of ...more

Pretty much what CopperandGold said. 1 drill hole isn't enough and add to that fact that they only penetrated about 200m (1/6th of the way) into the anomaly which, correct me if I am wrong, is about 500m wide and 1300m long and starts at 800m (total depth 2100m). Basically, they would need about 3-5 drill holes penetrating much deeper into the anomaly say to a depth of 18-1900m instead of the ...more

Thanks. So not a "game changer" and likely never was a remote chance in that.  Really confusing that when WRN issues a PR like that in the met and drill results they don't give some added tidbits ... like at current spot ($4.3cu; $1909au; $30mo)....that NPV is about $6B with Moly and Cu both adding $1.5B to NPV... Moly current spot is a much bigger deal than the anamoly ...more

sooner: "Thanks. So not a "game changer" and likely never was a remote chance in that. " Not even close. And hopefully they forget any fantasy about drilling this thing further. Enough with the distractions. This is a company that's refusing to put in big, bold letters: "This ends Rio's checklist of project level items," and you think they're going to ...more

Clarke - is Moly really $33 lb now??? I realize highly volatile on this...but at that rate it would add $6.7B to revenue over 27 years or about $2.8B NPV....in usd. That alone more than doubles the NPV headline number in corp presentation!!!! Yeah yeah I get it...no major would ever assume that in the acquisition price but it is at least a feather in the hat during negotiations....and at a minimum ...more

"is Moly really $33 lb now???"  I don't know, and I don't really care. Can anyone, without Googling, explain what Moly is used for? I certainly can't. And it's not that "no major would ever assume that...." more than it's inconsequential in any marginal buyer's decision to get in. They're primary consideration will be "is someone willing ...more

Moly is mainly used for Steel production and alloys... Which to be fair to Sooner is a useful addition / would be of some interest to Rio. However, to your point Clarke, it is a byproduct - the main attractions are Copper and Gold with a silver and moly kicker.

IvanRo - sorry to be obtuse ....but here's something to consider ---- Mo in FS was $14 - currently $33  Cu in FS was $3.6 - currently $4.3 Spot Mo adds nearly 3 times more to NPV than Cu ---- or said another way, it would take Cu at $5.2 (from $3.6) to have same impact as Mo from $14 to $33 in the NPV. At least that's what my spreadsheet shows! I simply cannot accept that Mo is a ...more

You're not being obtuse chief. I get your point but when I look at the Feasibility Study and see that Copper and Gold is ~83% of revenue over the life of mine with Moly being ~14% and Silver making up the gap (At FS prices). Then in my view Moly is a side show. Use your model to re-run the numbers based on latest spot prices? And see if there is a significant change in revenue %s ?? Also, if ...more

Spot vs FS revenue over 27 years  Cu = $18B - 42% Au = $10B - 25% Mo = $13B - 31% Ag = $1B - 2% So Moly is bigger than Gold in terms of revenue at current $33/lb. Even Moly at $26 is equivalent to Gold....yet no one cares...haha...aside from me and you.

sent follow up to Sandy -w/Paul on cc:  Hi Sandy Have you had a chance to review?   I note Mo is $33 but in my file I used $21….   So it seems Moly is actually a BIGGER contributor to revenue during the 1st 27 years of mine (aka FS) than Gold…by about $3B. Even Moly at $26 appears to be an equal revenue generator as Gold at $1900.   So, I’d really like to understand why this ...more

Sooner I care, great numbers on Moly I Maybe Paul will comment on the Moly component in his next webinar / interview ? Ask Sandy / Paul if they noticed the Moly prices . M2

Sandy noted moly price to me after her discussion with Paul in response to my question about the village idiot Kai comment on NPV < capex. Comment was with cu at 4? Gold at $1900 and moly at $32...IRR around 30% and NPV over $5b. However, no investor would be able to decipher that from corp premium because moly not even on the sensitivity scale...only copper and gold. Technically we're a ...more

Now that is significant, anything on the longer term price projections for Moly? Will see if I can build a full discounted casflow - have a couple that O may be able to repurpose.

Sooner, here's a little trip down memory lane to a WRN press release from November, 2010, around 15 months after I purchased my first shares.  It shows that Dale clearly understood the value of the molybdenum in the deposit.  I see it too, and thanks for keeping us focused on the total value of the future revenue stream. As we talked before, "Game changer drilling " is overthinking because it is not expensive that wrn can afford to do it at anytime. Why did they do this after decades later.  They just wait Rio to write check, they must do something and show in order to collect the annual options. Useless drilling, interview, some roadshow... consuming money , dilution and wait the major  to ...more
